Community Actions
Children's Dental Health Month
In February staff members visited various elementary schools in the area. Working with Kindergarten and 1st graders, we watched the "Adventures of Wiggly Tooth", reviewed brushing and flossing instructions and discussed "good snacks/bad snacks". The students were given activity sheets, brushes and floss. A good time was had by all!!
Seeds for Kids
During the months of March and April, Cindy and Carrie volunteered in the Danville City elementary schools for the Seeds for Kids program. They taught the 3rd grade science SOL on soil, which included the interrelationship of soil and gardening. Also included in the discussion was plant botany and gardening. The students and presenters had a great time!
Acteens - West Main Baptist Church
Dr. Helton along with with the Acteen group of girls from her church, West Main Baptist, have been spending their Sunday afternoons helping children with their reading skills. They make reading fun by playing games and having one on one reading time with the children. They do many other activities with them in conjuction with the church.
Current Events
Dr. Helton sponsored Field of Dreams night at the Danville Braves Game on Saturday, August 15th. Everyone had a great time. Thank you to all who participated by coming out to the game.
